. . . We Can Help!
Gain freedom from tobacco.
The A.N.D.Y. Program is
offering $25.00 adult cessation
group classes in Mercer, Paulding and Van

Ohio Tobacco Quit Line:
1-800-QUIT-NOW
What is the
Quit Line?
The Ohio
Tobacco Quit Line, 1-800-QUIT-NOW, is a toll
free telephone counseling service that
connects people who want to quit using
tobacco with a trained Quitting Specialist
who can guide and support them through the
quitting process. This free service is
available in both English and Spanish to
people calling from anywhere in Ohio.
Additionally the deaf and hard of hearing
community may utilize a TTY by calling
1-888-229-2182.
What services
does the Quit Line provide?
The Quit Line provides individual counseling
that includes a personal quit plan to guide
callers through all phases of quitting,
including preparation for their quit date
all the way through the possible relapse
phase keeping them from using tobacco
again. Quitting Specialists will discuss
the caller’s goals for quitting tobacco use
and then help them determine the best
resources for reaching those goals. They
will also schedule counseling calls to help
support the caller through the quitting
process and provide self help materials
about tobacco use and the information on
quitting. Callers will also receive
information about community resources and
meetings that may help them quit tobacco.
The Quit Line will initiate up to five
scheduled phone sessions with the client
over a two to six month period. The Quit
Line will make the initial contact with the
client approximately 48 hours after
receiving the fax referral. Once the
initial contact is made the Quit Line is
open to the client to call at their
discretion. A person may call the Quit Line
as many times as they like, free of charge.
You may be eligible for free NRT up to eight
weeks if your insurance plan or workplace
has partnered with the Quit Line and you
enroll into the program. If you are on
Medicaid, you can receive any nicotine
replacement or medications with a doctor’s
prescription at any pharmacy for small
co-pay of $3.00. If you have no insurance
at all, then you can receive a discounted
coupon from the Quit Line for four weeks in
the mail to be redeemed at CVS or Rite Aid
pharmacies for $25. All calls to the Quit

you're tired of having to walk through a
cloud of smoke to get into school, if
you hate having tobacco kill people you
love, if you ask a friend to
quit, write your name on one of your
Dad's cigarettes, sign a petition, write
a letter, or plan a rally, then you're a
part of stand.
Join
your Tri-County stand Team, it's
